In Loving Memory of Ulavor Lewis
5/6/1937 - 5/10/2020
Ulavor was Born in Dubach, Louisiana, To Sammie and Lizzie Littleton. Sis. Lewis as she was affectionately called, married Quincy Lewis September 10, 1956 and to this union 4 children were born.
Sis. Lewis was well known for infectious spirit and undying desire to Praise God every chance she got and tell someone about Jesus. Her desire was for every person on this earth have an opportunity to try Jesus and she was going to do her part. Sis. Lewis was also known for her outstanding abilities in the kitchen and you could find greens and hot water cornbread on her stove every single day of the week. Sis. Lewis worked at Garfield High School in the Cafeteria for over 30 years and was currently still employed there.
Sis. Lewis slipped away on Mother’s Day in true Sis. Lewis form on her terms and is reunited with her beloved Quincy.
Sis. Lewis was preceded in death by both Parents, 5 siblings, and her husband of 60 years Deacon Quincy Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memory 3 sons Dwight, Rodney, and Joseph Lewis and 1 daughter Crystal Lewis.Two adopted daughters Teresa Sutton, Nikisha Richardson ( Henri), 2 Grandchildren Jemica Florence ( Charron) and Devon Lewis. 15 Siblings and numerous in laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Memorial celebration will be held at a later time but please feel free to join us for a procession from Beacon Hill 1st Baptist Church 1607 s. Forest st. to Garfield High School for a balloon release Saturday May 23,2020 at 1:30pm.
