Times They Are Changing ~ Sports by Mazvita

Well, officially, fall is mere days away. I know it’s still unseasonal warm, but don’t let that fool you. Labor Day, the last Summer Holiday, was celebrated this weekend. The Huskies played their first game of the season. An impressive 35 -3 win over Weber State, I might add.

The Seahawks are up next. They will host the Denver Broncos this Sunday at Lumen Field. And in the unfortunate news category, the Seattle Mariners are on course to make it two years without a playoff appearance. The Mariners have lost three consecutive games in a row and are six games behind the Houston Astros in the American League West title race. It is fair to say it is not much of a race at this stage. Remember when the Mariners were ten games ahead of the Astros? Yeah, it seems like a long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away. So, if your question is, what now? My answer is to enjoy the upcoming seasonal change in the Northwest. In addition to American football, you can still catch the last of the Sounders season. The Rave Green has six games left, and then there are the playoffs. The Seattle Storm are in the same position of having their season wind down. The Storm have just six and eight regular season games before the postseason. So yes, enjoy the last week of Summer.
