Still Standing: By Troy Taylor

My name is Troy Taylor—some know me as Walt. I’m launching a series of weekly articles to uplift and encourage, especially within the church community. I attend Restoration Bible Church in Burien, led by Pastor Newell, which has been a major part of my growth.

I recently came home from incarceration and am doing my best to walk the right path. I have a 9-year-old daught

er who is my world. God has been incredibly good to me—blessed by the best. The enemy stays busy, but I’m learning how to walk this spiritual walk one day at a time.

I’ve been stabbed, shot in the head, and spent years in and out of prison. I have ten kids and lost my son Clinton in 2023. That pain changed me forever.

I call it a degree from Sidewalk University, and now I use it to reach others still struggling.

Psalm 143—it’s carried me through many nights.
