Seattle Municipal Court to Hold Community Relief Day, Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at Jefferson Community Center

Seattle — Seattle Municipal Court (SMC) and social service organizations are coming to the Jefferson Community Center in Beacon Hill from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, as part of a Community Relief Day. 

 

Community members will get help with addressing SMC warrants and setting up payment plans or community service plans to address Seattle tickets. Assistance with setting up payment plans for King County traffic tickets will also be available along with a wide range of supportive services from partnering organizations. No appointment is required. Registration is highly encouraged. Register for the event here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3SDSYJM.  Interpreters may be available in Amharic, Mandarin, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese based on registration needs.

 

Over the years, SMC has hosted similar events with service providers to deliver court services and community assistance in one place for individuals in Seattle and surrounding areas outside the court in a neighborhood center. This year, SMC and 30+ service providers will be participating.

Seattle Municipal Court processes more cases than any other municipal court in the State of Washington with seven elected judges and five appointed magistrates. Under the Seattle Municipal Code and certain Revised Code of Washington statutes, we adjudicate misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor crimes, infractions, and civil violations.
