#Root4Recovery with Seattle Mariners and Washington Recovery Alliance at Recovery Day at the Mariners!

Join  the Washington  Recovery Alliance  (WRA),

King  County  Recovery  Coalition  (KCRC),  and

Seattle Mariners to #Root4Recovery at our fourth

annual  Recovery  Day  at  The  Mariners  to  cel-

ebrate mental health and substance use recovery!

The event  is centered at T-Mobile Park  and will

be  held  on  Sunday  September  15,  2024  before

and  during  the  Seattle  Mariners  baseball  game.

We host this event each year to celebrate National

Recovery Month in September, and this year our

focus  is  Connection  and  Recovery.  Two  peers

from  local  recovery  support  services  will  throw

the  rst  pitch  and  will  be  immediately  followed

by our Recovery VIdeo on the Jumbotron. WRA

is hosting  a pre-game  recovery rally  at 10:30am

in Occidental Square followed by a lively march

to  the  game  complete  with  recovery  signs  and

song. A pre-game recovery event will follow, with

food, community resources,  and fun  activities at

T-Mobile Park.

This year, we  also made  the  decision to  support

our local community and give back by hosting a Services Fair from 9am-3pm at Occidental Square,

free and open to the public. It will include pet services from Seattle Veterinary Outreach, along with

various services from MTI, Essentials First, MCRC, NW Barbers, We Care Daily Clinics, a com-

munity pop-up from Metro, and several behavioral health organizations

"At the Washington Recovery Alliance, we believe in the power of community and the importance

of standing together to support recovery eorts across our state. Recovery Day at the Mariners is

more than just a day at the ballpark; it's a vibrant celebration of resilience, unity, and the incredible

strength of individuals on their recovery journey. We are deeply grateful to the Mariners, our Title

Sponsor, King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division, and the dozens of other spon-

sors, volunteers, and sta who have come together to make this event possible. This day serves as

a powerful reminder that when we come together, we can break down the barriers of stigma and

create a supportive, understanding environment where recovery can thrive. Let's continue to cheer

on our community as we do for our favorite team—because recovery deserves a standing ovation!"

– Monika Whiteld, Executive Director, Washington Recovery Alliance.

Join the celebration! Tickets available at mariners.com/recovery, and each includes a free Mariners

Recovery Day 2024 t-shirt (while supplies last) and entry into our pre-event.

First PItch Story:

Our First Pitch pair epitomize this year's theme, Connection and Recovery. Both are people in recovery, who

have gone from receiving support and services to now being leaders and peers, who walk shoulder to shoulder

with people on their journeys to and in recovery. and have inspired countless others to do the same. We are so

blessed by Cody B West and Mikel Kowalcyk, their incredible organizations and all who do this work. Cody

and Mikel also played for years on Clean and Sober softball teams and are still active softball players today.

About the Washington Recovery Alliance: The WRA is a community-driven advocacy nonprot,  led  by  in-

dividuals in recovery from substance use disorder and mental health conditions, families impacted by behav-

ioral health conditions, and community organizations. We deliver our mission through innovation, community

partnerships, and citizen activism. KCRC is one of 9 regional coalitions that make up the WRA. Together, we

advance mental health and substance use recovery by changing public understanding and shaping pro-recovery

public policy.
