REV. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee (MLKCC) is inviting you to attend and re support to establish annually April 4th as a "Day Of Remembrance" in Martin Luther King Jr. County. The purpose of the event is to remember the lost lives of family and friends while recognizing the accomplishments of local departed Civil Rights leaders on the day the drum-major for peace, Dr. King, was assassinated.

By MARCH 22nd please provide the name and/or a photo of your loved one to the Seattle Griot Project, ceoevans@aol.com or 206-272-0669, to become part of the Day of Remembrance ceremony. The ceremony will feature live music, a keynote speaker, community service award and a reception with various ethnic dishes. At 6:02PM the exact time Dr. King was killed the church bell will toll 55 times and the names of departed loved ones will be presented on the screen for remembrance.

The event is free to everyone regardless of beliefs, religion, social status, or location. MLKCC believes the history of our loved ones is something to be preserved and far to many significant social justice individuals, organizations and events lost to the ages.
