Rainier Scholars – Tacoma Cultivates Academics andLeadership in 12-year Program

Rainier Scholars - Tacoma is a long-term college readiness program for underrepresented students of color. Students begin in the summer before fifth grade and stay connected through college.

The program focuses on academics, leadership training, career exploration, cultural identity, and resiliency for students of color. The overall goal is to increase college graduation rates and empower new generations of leaders.

Rainier Scholars - Tacoma currently serves 120 students and is looking for new students to join in summer 2025!

Current fourth graders and their families are invited to learn more at an information meeting. The meetings will be offered from December 7 to February 1. The meeting schedule will be announced soon at RainierScholars.org/Rainier-Scholars-Tacoma/.

Don’t have a fourth-grade student in your life? You can still be part of the Rainier Scholars family! We rely on community partners as advisors, speakers, and field trip hosts, as well as for internship opportunities and financial support.

Potential partners can learn more and see scholars in action by attending a program tour. RainierScholars.org/Program-Tours/.
