In Loving Memory of William Bailey Jr.


William Emerson Bailey Jr. (Punkin) passed away in Seattle, WA on Thursday, August 29th 2024. He never regained consciousness after smoke inhalation, caused by a fire in his apartment. Growing up in Seattle, William graduated from Rainier Beach High School as a star basketball athlete. He went on to pursue a further education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He later started his own business, The Carpenters Painter, channeling his talents into his work and doing what he loved best. He was a “Jack of All Trades”.

William was best known for his loving and caring heart. He never met a stranger that he wouldn't help. The community will certainly miss him and his loving, compassionate spirit.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, September 13th 2024 at the Church by the Side of the Road in Tukwila, WA at 11:00 am.

William’s legacy will be left with his two children, Shannell Dolan-Bailey and William Bailey III and two grandchildren, Aniyah Sims and William Bailey IV.

He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Briscoe; two brothers, Victor Greer Jr. (Margaret Scarborough Greer) and Mario Bailey; two special aunties, Geyler Greer, and Saundra Brown. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, William “Bubba” Bailey Sr. and his sister, Kelli Yvette Bailey.

The family is grateful for all of the love and support William received while in the hospital, as well as the outpouring of love and support after his death.
