Reverend Dr. Abraham Harris Jr. was the Pastor of the United Missionary Baptist Church formerly Mission Baptist Church for 40 years. One of Pastor Harris’ favorite scriptures was Psalm 119:133: “Order my steps in thy word: And let not any iniquity have dominion over me”. He always wanted to make sure that everything was done decently and in order according to God’s word. Pastor Harris had a great love for his family and for God’s people.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Carolyn, his daughters, Priscilla LaRose Harris and Brenda Potts, his step sons, James Anderson and Greg Simington, his step daughter Donnita Russell, his siblings which include six sisters, Bernice (Henry) Brown, Elva Jo Harris, Ola Bell Reed, Amanda (Lee) Washington, Vergie (Ricky) Hewell, and Barbara (Otis) Ward and five brothers, George Harris, Johnny (Joyce) Harris, James Harris, Elmo (Flossie) Harris, and Larry (Cassandra) Harris, his grandchildren, Melva Wright, Black Wright, Daylon Simington, Desire Paulson and Shaquita Robinson, 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 14th at Paradise Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m.
Final resting place is Tahoma National Cemetery, Thursday, January 12, 2023, 2:30 p.m.
