In Loving Memory of Oscar Franklin Chambers, Sr


Oscar Franklin Chambers, Sr.  August 26, 1931 - November 17, 2023

 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Oscar Franklin Chambers, Sr.. Born in Chickasaw, Alabama, Oscar honorably served in the U.S. Air Force before meeting and marrying the love of his life Angie Chambers in 1955, beginning a remarkable 68-year journey together. As a devoted member, elder, and pastor of Central Church of Christ for over six decades, Oscar made a profound impact beyond the church walls. His creation of the Breakfast Program offered hot meals to low-income families and bag lunches to the homeless for over 20 years. Additionally, Oscar earned degrees from Pacific Lutheran University and the University of Puget Sound, leading to a remarkable 30-year teaching career. He is survived by his devoted wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. Celebration of life will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, WA, on Monday, December 11th, at 10 am.
