Mordine Fuller

Mordine Fuller was born July 26, 1947 in Seattle, Washington to James C. Watson and Ozell Payne. She was the fourth child born to this union. Mordine is survived by her sister, Ann Burnside and her brother, Corey Dillion.
Mordine went to school in the Seattle School District and graduated from Garfield High School. After graduation Mordine began working at a dialysis center and then went into banking.
On August 6, 1966, Mordine married John D. Gates. A daughter, Terri Lynn Gates, was born to this union.Terri Lynn proceeded Mordine in death.
In 1971, Mordine moved to Los Angeles, California, embarking on a new chapter in her life. Mordine beganher work career in Los Angeles as a billing clerk with a title insurance company. Mordine worked her way up in the title field to the position of a sub escrow officer.
Mordine met her lifelong partner, Charles A. Fuller. During this time they both worked for the same title insurance company. Their romance, began with a passionate elevator kiss.They shared a long courtship of five years and were married November 17, 1979 sharing 45 years of marriage and adventures and settled in Pasadena, California.
Mordine continued her work in the financial services industry and went into banking with Home Savings as a loan processor. With her dedication and experience she quickly rose up the ladder to become a loan processing manager and achieving the position of corporate assistant secretary. Mordine was a practicing Baptist throughout her life. However, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Bernard M. Jackson, she joined Phillips Temple CME Church and accepted methodism as her preferred religion.
Mordine is known for her love of hats, with Panama hats being her favorite.
Though Mordine’s stature was small, her grit was large and determined.
Mordine is survived by her husband, Charles A. Fuller, three grandchildren Charles A. Holmes, Mordean Holmes, Tyler Artavia, five great grandchildren Kadence Holmes, Jaylyn Holmes, Kamden Homes, Amaya Rose Martinez Holmes and King Holmes, nieces Ena J. Kyles and Oth’than Burnside and a host of other family and friends.
