Mildred S. Dorris
November 19, 1934 – July 9, 2024
With extremely heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved and beautiful Mother, Mildred S. Dorris. Her venerable spirit, sage wisdom, infectious laughter and the dignity, grace and light she ushered into every room will be missed by the innumerable lives she touched, especially the church community in Seattle where she served tirelessly. We fully understand that despite the tremendous void in our hearts, weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. She’s safe in His arms.
Mildred S. Dorris has joined the heavenly hosts preceded by Sterling Atkins (Brother), Reverend James R. Dorris (Husband), Darryl R. (Son), Jeffrey L. (Son) and Ray M. (Son). Her legacy of love will endure through those who mourn her passing: her loving children Pamela, James (Shawn), Clifton and Gary (Laura); her loving siblings, Eva Mae Pinnick, Doris Jackson, Naomi Brown (James) and Sandra McLurkin (Robert); her beautiful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and those touched by her ministry in the body of Christ.
The outpouring of each expression of love has been a comfort. Please accept the family's heartfelt gratitude and keep us in your prayers.
