In Loving Memory of Marlene Davis (Slaughter)


Marlene Davis (Slaughter), 79, of Seattle, WA, peacefully passed away on September 8, 2023. She was born in Washington DC to the late Louis E. Slaughter and Wilhelmina F. Slaughter Patterson. Marlene was a member of The First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Seattle, WA. She found solace and strength in her worship and praise singing in the FAME Choir. For over 20 years, she served as a shoe buyer and manager for Frederick & Nelson. Her love for helping others led her to the insurance industry for 25 years. Two of Marlene's favorite pastimes were dining and shopping with her late husband Edward.

Marlene's memory will be cherished by her daughter, Zhimondre' Watson (Derick Spears) of Tacoma WA, as well as her sister, Marguerite Jones of Seattle, WA. She leaves behind a legacy that extends through generations, touching the hearts of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends. Preceding her in death is her beloved husband, Edward C. Davis III, her daughter Zhivonne' M. Garrett, her father Lewis E. Slaughter, her mother Whilhelmina F. Patterson, and her brother Burnic L. Slaughter all of Seattle, WA. Viewing, services and a light repass will be held at Emerald City Community Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 801 25th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122, on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers that family asks for donations to honor Marlene.
