In Loving Memory of Lee Kimbrough

Lee Robert Kimbrough, 47, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Federal Way, WA on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Lee was born on June 4, 1976, in Seattle, Washington to parents Sharyle Donaldson and Leroy Kimbrough and grew up in Seattle's Central District.

To Lee, 1976 not only became a world-renowned year because of his birth, but also the birth of the ALL MIGHTY SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - Lee's favorite team whom he faithfully rooted for since birth (literally) even through their worst plays, faulty calls, and questionable trades. Lee's loyalty to his favorite football team unwavering brought lively conversation and many laughs year-round.

A master of wonder, Lee's curiosity allowed him to take interest in the many diverse realms the physical world has to offer. He loved all things cooking--trying new recipes and flavor combinations. He loved learning new things and growing his appreciation for astronomy, the animal kingdom, and the Negro Baseball League. He enjoyed diving into the meaning of African proverbs and acquiring random bits of knowledge--fitting for his love of trivia.

A lover of music, we will still cherish his immense knowledge of hip hop, R&B, the blues, rock, and country. He appreciated a variety of artists ranging from Mahalia Jackson, to Wu Tang Clan, Chris Stapleton, Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Eric Clapton, and more; he was always willing to listen to something new. He also enjoyed reading mysteries, true crime, and history books as well as engaging with a brain teaser here and there.

A conversation with Lee provided warmth and comfort - it was almost impossible to end at the original topic at hand. His energy allowed conversation to flow fluidly, would always include his deep chuckle style laugh and inevitably at least one really awful pun or dad joke, followed by a laugh and, "Isn't that funny!"

Lee was preceded in death by his father Leroy Kimbrough; grandfather Gerald Donaldson, grandmother, Agnes Donaldson; brother, Leroy Kimbrough; and nephew Demond Hart, Jr.

Lee continues to be cherished by his mother Sharyle Donaldson; daughter Majestic Kimbrough; sisters LaKesha Kimbrough, Donya (Cannon) Henry, Loretta Kimbrough & LaNora Kimbrough, brother Demand Hart Sr.; nieces Jamaica Gardner, Elle McCarthy, Dyliss Hart, Daelon Hart, nephews Alastair Randolph, Treyon Randolph & Nyiem Watson; grandnephews Alastair Randolph, Jr. & Kenton Randolph; former partner and close friend Tamaca Graham, and many close family friends.

End of life details caringly handled by Bonney Watson Funeral Home, Sea Tac, Washington.

Celebration and honoring of Lee's life will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 in Renton, Washington.
