In Loving Memory of Laura Montrice (Elleby) Daniels

On November 22 at 11:38 PM, the Lord dispatched his glorious angels to escort our loving wife, mother, daughter, Nana, sister, auntie, Cousin, and friend into his bosom.

On November 25, 1965, a bouncing, loving, rambunctious baby girl was born to William Lee Elleby Senior and Marie Elleby in Seattle, Washington, at Fort Lawton Army base, and we named her Laura Montrice. Laura was the ninth child born out of a union of 10 children. Laura attended John Muir Annex Elementary School and Asa Mercer Middle School, and graduated from Ingram High School. Laura was a gifted athlete, excelling in gymnastics and cheerleading. If you knew her, you know she wasn’t just talented.

She was the sassiest in the room, always bringing flair into everything she did. Laura was baptized by our father William Lee Elleby Senior at the tender age of 10, this influence led her to attend southwestern Christian College and Terryl, Texas, where she graduated with honors and Abilene Christian University in Abilene Texas. Laura had a passion for serving and helping others. She worked at Seattle Central Community College, providing financial aid for aspiring students. She worked at Harborview Medical Center in the radiology department providing patients with life-saving care. She also did janitorial service with my parents, In 2000 Laura followed her entrepreneurial Spirit and opened Daniels Daycare. What began simply as keeping children grew into so much more. She created a place where home-cooked home nourished little ones, transportation eased busy schedules, and overnight care offered peace of mind. Ultimately, it became a safe haven for families experiencing homelessness. Laura‘s unwavering desire to serve others knew no bounds, creating a lasting impact on countless lives. And she did this for two decades.

We are saddended that our dear sister went too soon and yet the Lord said it was time for her to take her rest. She was a quiet inspiration to me and my family. My daughter said that Laura inspirated her to make cornbread dressing :) Laura will be missed. Her grace and lovely smile and her tight hugs. Prayers for the entire family and especially mother Elleby.

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Laura. We met during our youth football days, where her infectious smile lit up every game as she cheered from the sidelines. She always had a way of bringing joy to those around her, and her cheerful spirit made each moment spent with her unforgettable. I will always cherish the memories we shared and the warmth of her friendship. Rest in peace, Laura; you will be greatly missed."

It's still hard to believe but I am grateful for the opportunity to have known Laura, and so thankful for the care and love she showed for my daughter and I the first 3 years of her life. Mrs. Laura will be sorely missed, prayers and my deepest sympathy to the family.
