In Loving Memory of Ivory Haywood

October 12, 1953 – August 12, 2024

Ivory Haywood, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Silver City, Mississippi, she was the youngest of 12 children to Eunice and John Haywood. In 1972, Ivory moved to Seattle, seeking new opportunities and following her brother Spencer Haywood.

A devoted mother of four daughters, Tresha Haywood, Constance Shanks, Consuela Robinson, and Sherri Cook, and a host of grandchildren. Ivory also cared for over 40 foster children over the years. She provided a loving home for many, often saying, "There are so many kids who need a home."

Ivory dedicated 33 years of service to the City of Seattle Municipal Court, leaving a lasting impact on her community. Her strength, compassion, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on October 20th at DeLancey's in Renton WA.

Miss Haywood was a wonderful woman I been knowing for a long time. She was a woman with a big heart. Every time I see her, we talked and laughed about things either if it was good or bad. It was truly a blessing to know Miss Haywood and she would truly be miss but never forgotten R.I.P💐
