Hazel Ann Smith was born in Seattle, Washington on February 12, 1927. She and two of her brothers, James Gerald (Jerry) and Stephen B. Smith, grew up and attended school in Seattle, Washington, and Bellevue, Washington.
In Bellevue, her parents, Charles B. and Blanche L. (Allen) Smith had a small farm with cows, chickens, pigs, etc.
Back in Seattle, after Hazel graduated from Garfield High School, she met and married David Stroy and the following children were born; Rosie, Walter, Mitchell, Sharon, Tracy, Martha, Blanche, Ronald and Calvin.
Hazel was a friendly, talkative person, who liked to discuss current and former topics.
Over the years, she was employed at Seattle Sandpoint Naval Station, Seattle Public Library, King County Metro Transit, Seattle Times, Seattle Police Department and numerous other agencies.
As a member of St. Clements Episcopal Church, she volunteered for numerous positions.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parent's, Charles Booth Smith
(1979) and Blanche Lucille (Allen) Smith (1946), her brothers, Charles Booth (Tracy) Smith, Jr. (1928), James Gerald Smith (1979) Stephen Bert Smith, (2014).
She will be greatly missed and remembered by family, friends and others who knew her.
