Edith Eloise Woods at the age of 93, passed away peacefully in her Seattle, Washington home on March 7, 2023. Edith was born on April 4, 1929 in Gadsden, Alabama to Hill and Rosa Lee Woods. Edith was happily married to Willie Woods before his passing in 1990. Edith is survived by her eight children Calvin Woods, Willie Woods, Frederick Woods, James Woods, Priscilla Woods, Francis Woods-Harris, Vida Woods-Hall and Ellen Woods-Hall, son in-laws Curtis and Bruce Hall and daughter in-law Kesha Woods and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Edith was courageous and always so full of life! We will forever cherish the memories of her empowering conversations, stories about marching with Dr. Martin Luther Jr. Her euphonious soulful singing, her strength and the love for her family will continue to be the foundation that we build upon. A funeral service will be held in her honor @10:30 am Thursday March 23 at New Hope Baptist Church, 124 21st Ave Seattle, Wa Public Viewing - 9:30-10:30am, Service - 10:30-12:00, burial site Evergreen Washelli, Aurora Ave. Take her hand precious lord, and lead her home.
