In Loving Memory of Cynthia Bascomb-Jones


Cynthia Bascomb Jones

January 8, 1950 - June 30, 2021

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Cynthia Bascomb-Jones. She made her transition at her home in Renton, Washington on June 30, 2021.

Cynthia was born in Bremerton Washington, raised in Seattle, Washington and was a 1968 graduate of Garfield High School.

She worked for The Boeing Commercial Airplane Company where she held various positions and ultimately retired. She also served as a reservist in the United States Coast Guard.

For several years, Cynthia owned and operated a Curves Fitness Gym located in the Skyway area in Seattle.

Cynthia was an avid supporter of local Black Community Arts and was a member of the Four Seasons Northwest Ski Club.

Growing up Cynthia attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and most recently was an active member at New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Lisa Jones and three grandchildren, Shaleiyah Wilson, Tavares Dillon Jr., and Johnny Ray Rogers, as well as eight Brothers and Sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank, Sr. and Flora Bell Bascomb and five siblings.

Cynthia also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating Cynthia's life will be held at a later date.

You will be missed Cynthia. I’m glad we had the chance to spend those four hours together earlier in June, laughing, joking, and reminiscing about our days at The Boeing Company. You’re home now Cynthia. Take your rest and be at peace with God the Father. Save a place for me and I’ll see you when I get there. Love ya girl. Margie Wooten
