Carrie Johnetta Strong was born on December 26, 1929, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Alex and Priscilla Simpson and was called home on September 28, 2024. Carrie’s family moved to Seattle, Washington in her High School years, where she attended and graduated from Garfield High School. She later earned a 2-year degree in early childhood development from Seattle Central Community College. She was a beloved member of Trinity Episcopal Parish Church in Seattle, Washington and a long-time resident of the Yesler Terrace. She leaves to cherish her memory, children: Jo seph Strong, Jr., Deborah Strong, Cheryl Strong and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loving friends. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents: Alex and Priscilla Simpson, sisters; Sarah Simp son, Francis North and Marie Walker, brothers: Alex Simpson and Deacon Ross Burks, son: Cedric Strong. The family invites you to celebrate her life at a 1pm service on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. Viewing will be at noon, just before the service.
