It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bernice Doretha Franklin, who was born on February 10, 1923, in Louisiana. Bernice departed from this world on July 3, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Bernice's life was nothing short of remarkable. In 1942, she embarked on a journey with her beloved husband, James Franklin, as they migrated to Seattle, WA. Their love was an enduring bond, having been united in marriage in 1940. Together, they faced life's challenges with unwavering support and shared joys, forming the foundation of a beautiful family.
A devoted mother, Bernice and James raised seven children, Lorece H. Gordon, JoAnn Filkins, James E. Franklin (deceased), Patricia A. Bruton (deceased), Ronald M. Franklin (deceased), Jackie Franklin (deceased) and Larry Franklin (deceased) instilling in them the values of love, compassion, and perseverance. As a matriarch, she held her family together with unwavering strength and a nurturing heart, creating a home filled with love and warmth.
In the face of loss and grief, Bernice demonstrated incredible resilience. After the passing of her beloved husband, she found love again and married Andy Jenkins. Their union was a testament to her capacity for love and her ability to find happiness in life's unexpected turns.
Bernice's love knew no bounds, and it extended beyond her immediate family to her ten cherished grandchildren. She showered them with affection, wisdom, and guidance, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
As we bid farewell to Bernice, we hold dear the memories of her joyous laughter, her unwavering love, and the strength she exuded throughout her life. She leaves behind a family and circle of friends who have been touched by her kindness and grace.
Though she may be physically absent, Bernice's spirit will forever be present in the hearts of those she loved. Her legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories will be a guiding light in the lives of her family and friends, serving as a reminder of the power of love to endure.

Memorial will be held at Immaculate Conception on July 26th, 2023 visitation at 11, and service following at 12PM
