Andrew Vernon Ratcliff was born to the Union of Albert H. and Bessie D. Buford Ratcliff on February 28,1932, in Seattle, Washington. He was the third of five children. He passed on September 3, 2024, at Kline Galland with his family by his side.
Andrew was baptized by the late Rev. Dr. F. Benjamin Davis, Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in the 1940s. Andrew served in the Army and fought in the Korean War (1951-1953). He later became a merchant seaman due to his love for the sea.
When Andrew ended that vocation, he returned to Seattle and joined the Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist Church where he devoted his life to serving God with unfaltering faith.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents Deacon Albert and Deaconess Bessie Ratcliff; one sister, Vera Ratcliff McCloud; two brothers, Albert Ratcliff and Richard Ratcliff Sr., and one niece, Vicky Lynn Crallie Polk.
He leaves to mourn: one sister, Rev. Dr. Phyllis Ratcliff Beaumonte; three nephews: Richard Ratcliff, Jr., Junius McCloud, jr., and Robert Ratcliff; three nieces: Pamela Lynn (Gregg) Lewis, Katherine McCloud (Nate) Green, Dorothy McCloud; and many Great- Great- Great
nieces, nephews, and cousins, who loved Andrew very much.
