Almeeda Goldie Jones was born December 16, 1930, in Ellensburg, WA to Jack and Vanita Williams. At the age of 11, she was adopted by her loving parents, Willette and Bill Williams. She spent her formative years in Bremerton, WA. Shortly before she graduated, she met the love of her life while working at the restaurant, Fred D. Jones. And after a whirlwind courtship, Fred and Almeeda married on June 16, 1950. Fred was then stationed in San Diego, CA where they welcomed their first child, Douglas while Fred was overseas in Korea. Following the end of the Korean War, Fred and Almeeda moved back to Bremerton where they continued to grow their family from 1953-1958 welcoming Teresa, Patricia, Sandra and Ronald. In 1959, the Jones family relocated to Seattle, WA. Almeeda returned to school to study nursing at Edison Technical School (Seattle Central College). Upon graduation, she obtained a position in critical care at Swedish Hospital and eventually a certificate in social work and later held a position as a Child and Family Therapist at Central Area Mental Health Center. In 1963, they purchased their forever home in Seattle Central District. As devout Catholics, they soon found their church home at St. Therese Parish. Almeeda was actively involved in the church community serving in the choir, taught catechism, and volunteered in the school (Girl Scouts). Fred and Almeeda became one of the prominent families at St. Therese. With Fred, Almeeda fostered a life for her family full of love, faith, and community. Almeeda took her last breath on February 24, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her five children, Doug (d. Barbara), Teresa (Frank), Patricia (Rodney), Sandra, and Ronald (Gigi); as well as 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
