People make exceptions for the presence of happiness. If we’re not careful, we’ll compromise our character and health for the sake of being happy.
My relationship with happiness is complex. I’ve always been a jubilant person, a natural encourager. It’s my intention to leave places and situations better than how I found them.
Happiness hasn’t always been at the forefront, especially as an adult. As we age from adolescence to adulthood, we become responsible with managing more. This is why you’ll find countless self-help books discussing balance. Don’t be deceived, happiness isn’t just reserved for children.
Age doesn’t imply personal development. As you develop, you unpack a wide array of expressions: gratitude, grief, embarrassment, uncertainty, contentment, and more.
I discovered that happiness is a by-product, a secondary reward.
