Federal disaster assistance available to King County residents and businesses affected by November bomb cyclone


King County renters, homeowners, nonprofits and businesses affected by the storm may be eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans.

Disaster assistance through the U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA, is available to help King County residents and businesses recover from the November bomb cyclone.

Applicants can also receive in-person application assistance at an SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center, starting Monday, Jan. 6. The centers are located at Bellevue Library and King County Elections in Renton. Visit kcemergency.com for center operating hours.

Information that may be needed when applying for a loan includes:

  • Name and address of the damaged property.

  • Contact information for all applicants and/or owners.

  • Social Security numbers of all applicants.

  • Insurance policy details, including the agent or carrier contact information and any claims that have been filed.

  • Lease agreement information for renters.

Applicants can call the SBA Customer Service Center at 800–659–2955 or email disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. For people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability, please dial 711 to access telecommunications relay services.

The deadline to apply for property damage is Feb. 21, 2025, and the deadline to apply for economic injury is Sept. 23, 2025.
