ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO WORKED ON, IN OR ATTENDED PLAYS AT BLACK ARTS WEST FROM 1968 THRU 1999


An Exhibit to showcase Black Arts West Theatre’s place in Seattle’s history is scheduled to open in 2022-2023 at The Northwest African American Museum. This Exhibit is being sponsored by: The Northwest African American Museum, Nu Black Arts West and Black Arts West’s Alumni. The Exhibit will be Curated by Esther E. Ervin.

We are presently in the process of collecting and cataloging items to display from memorabilia collected by cast members, musicians, production workers, sta, audiences, etc.Items to be displayed in the exhibit need to be submitted by January 31, 2022. We are requesting

contributors send photos of items to be submitted, as soon as possible.

We want to have a complete and exciting display of BAW’s contribution to Seattle’s Theatre Scene! Once items are selected, contributors will be contacted and can make arrangements to either loan to the custody of sponsors during the Exhibit or donate items to remain in the permanent Black Arts West Exhibit at the Museum.
