A Celebration Of The Life Of Marian Mercedes Ford

Marian Mercedes Ford was born on October 14, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Rose Fuller-Ford and Jackson Ford. Her father was a pastor at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Both of her parents preceded her in death. Marian was the youngest of six children, and all of her siblings (Mildred Ford-Merritt, Jackson Ford, Jr., Rose Ford-Williams, Milton Ford, and Dorothy Ford Taylor) also preceded her in death. Marian’s family moved from Louisiana to Washington State when she was in her teens, and that is where she met and married Robert Johnson, her high-school sweetheart and the love of her life. From Marian and Robert’s 72-year union came five children (Glenn, Robert, Jr., Mark, Linda and Tracy) and one step-daughter (Lois DeeAnn McWilliams). Sadly, God called Tracy and Lois DeeAnn home years ago, so Marian experienced the grief of their passing, but God is merciful and those two children were spared the heartbreak of Marian’s homegoing. In addition to her husband and surviving children, Marian leaves others to mourn her passing: 12 grandchidren (Dion Johnson, Gleneesha Johnson-Williams, Robert Johnson, III,

Carlton Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Rashon Johnson, Christian Johnson, Christina Johnson, Mark Camron Johnson, Marissa Johnson, Stephen Johnson, and Joy Johnson); several great-grandchildren; and a host of family, friends and loved ones too numerous to name individually, but who are greatly appreciated.
